Booking ground rules
Terms and Booking Policy.
How discovery flights are booked, what reschedules look like, the risks you are agreeing to when you fly with us, and what happens if something gets disputed. Read once, fly with us for years.
Section 1Discovery flight booking
The Discovery Flight is $199 and runs about 90 minutes total: a roughly 15-minute pre-flight briefing, approximately 30 minutes on the controls of a Grumman AA-5B Tiger with a CFI in the right seat, and a post-flight debrief with your first logbook entry. Times are approximate and can shift with weather, ramp traffic, and the natural rhythm of the day.
48-hour cancellation policy.
Reschedule for any reason at no charge, with no questions asked, up to 48 hours before your booked start time.
Inside the 48-hour window, we will do our best to reschedule you. If we cannot fill the slot and the flight cannot be moved, the discovery flight is non-refundable.
Weather reschedules: if your CFI calls the flight for weather, you reschedule at no charge. We never push weather to keep a slot.
Section 2Flight training risk acknowledgement
Flight training, like all aviation, involves inherent risk. You acknowledge that risk when you fly with us.
- All flights operate under FAR Part 91 and, for training, FAR Part 61.
- Every flight has a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) on board acting as Pilot in Command.
- Before any aircraft starts, every customer signs a standard rental, training, and release agreement at the airport. The release is reviewed with you at briefing.
- Minors fly only with a parent or guardian's written consent on the standard release.
- You agree to follow all CFI instructions during pre-flight, taxi, flight, and post-flight.
Nothing on this website replaces, modifies, or shortcuts the standard agreement signed at the airport.
Section 3Pricing
- Published rates for instruction, aircraft rental, and ground school are good for 30 days from the date of quote.
- Rates are subject to change. Once you are enrolled in a program, the rate sheet in force when you started governs that program until completion or the next published rate sheet, whichever you and the school agree to in writing.
- Aircraft rental is billed Hobbs time. Instruction is billed in 0.1 hour blocks. Fuel surcharges, when in effect, are disclosed at booking.
- Optional items (headsets, printed kneeboards, ground school materials) are itemized on your invoice.
Section 4Aircraft use
Our trainers exist to train. They are not approved for aerobatic flight, formation flight, photography flight, banner tow, or commercial revenue operations without our prior written consent. Each aircraft has a limitations placard and POH in the airplane, and your CFI will brief you on it before flight. No flight outside published limitations.
Section 5Disputes
If something is wrong, the fastest path to a resolution is to call (941) 375-9727 and tell us. We have settled almost every disagreement we have ever had over the phone, the same day.
If a formal dispute cannot be resolved that way, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Venue lies in the state courts located in Sarasota County, Florida.
Section 6Updates to these terms
We may update this page. The version in force on the day you booked is the one that governs that booking. The current version is always at this URL.
