We're not in downtown Sarasota. Our home field is Venice Municipal (KVNC), fifteen or twenty miles south. That short drive is exactly why so many Sarasota-area pilots train with us.

Getting to the field
The drive from Sarasota to KVNC.
Venice Municipal is an easy run south of Sarasota. Point the car down US-41 (Tamiami Trail) or hop on I-75, and you're at the hangar in well under an hour from most of Sarasota.

From central Sarasota Head south on US-41 or take I-75 south to the Venice exits. The trip usually runs around thirty to forty minutes, traffic depending.

From North Port and the south county You are even closer. US-41 north or River Road puts you at the field in roughly twenty to twenty-five minutes.

At the airport Find Airport Avenue East off the south side of the field. We are at 224 Airport Ave E, in the Skyport Aviation area. Park, walk in, and the coffee is on.

What aircraft will I train in?
You train in our growing, well-maintained fleet, including a four-seat Grumman AA-5B Tiger and a two-seat Cessna 150. Every airplane is maintained in-house by our own A&P shop next door, not contracted out.
Do I need an FAA medical to start flight training?
For Sport Pilot training you can use a valid US driver's license in lieu of an FAA medical certificate to show medical eligibility, so there is no FAA medical exam to start. For a Private Pilot certificate you will need an FAA Class 3 Medical from an Aviation Medical Examiner before you solo, and we can help you schedule that with a local AME.
